What is MediaLibrary ?

MediaLibrary is a multi-platform free software that lets you catalog your media files ( CD-Rs, DVDs...)

Its main purpose is to reference your media files in a category tree with any comment. You can then easily find any file you are looking for.

MediaLibrary is Free Software available under the terms of the GNU/GPL running on Java.

News :

August 11th, 2004 : MediaLibrary unstable 0.7 released. It offers a glimpse of the future layout of MediaLibrary 0.8 (featuring the GUI concept of "Desk"), as well as a casual indexation bug patch.

May 11th, 2004 : MediaLibrary 0.6 (stable) released. Try it out right now ! Here's some meat : MediaLibrary has now its own open XML format - categories are valid search criteria - CD labels reading on Linux - indexed media update - automatic jar installer (IzPack) - improved UI layout - full UI internationalization : english and french available (translators wanted) - improved overall robustness

January 12th, 2003 : New website. Still simple but we're working on it. Feedback is welcome.

November 25th, 2003 We thank the Framasoft (free software indexing site) people for their nice review (in french) of MediaLibrary, and for pointing out some interesting ideas (look forward to the next release ;)

October 10th, 2003 : New release. ML is now much faster. A bug causing some lag has been solved. Try our new MediaLibrary !

Future Release :

We are working on the future MediaLibrary :

• We're looking for translators. Only english and french are currently available. Any other tongue welcome.
• The preference window still needs improvement to be usefull.
• We are also working on an easier setup for not-standalone versions to detect java directory path...
• Curently tested : statistics with pretty charts (thanks jfreechart)
