You may either use the "File" menu or the three buttons on the left of the tool bar. These are the Load button, the Save button & the Close button. The Load & Save tasks are monitored in the status progress bar (displayed at the bottom). MediaLibrary will warn you when attempting to save on a already existing different catalog. When saving, the previous save is backuped in a .bak read-only file. The "File" menu features quick load shortcuts to the most recent catalogs used at its bottom.
The different catalog format that you can use are :
The ADC catalog format, of extension .cat
The Medialibrary XML catalog format, of extension .cat.xml
The Gzipped Medialibrary XML catalog format, of extension .cat.xml.gz
Note that if you do not specify the extention of the file, Medialibrary will automatically create a catalog in the XML Gzipped format.
